A native of Steubenville, Ohio, Helen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Ohio University and a Masters of Science degree in Computer Science from Howard University. She has presented to, mentored and helped thousands of individual with their personal finances. With her background in Engineering and her Executive Leadership, Helen has traveled the United States and Caribbean spreading her message of reducing debt now to accumulate wealth later. She is a former Vice-President at Lucent Technologies and now current business owner.

Crawley-Austin’s story of her own family challenge confirms the idea that when partnering with groups of like-minded people you can succeed in changing your financial future. In 2012, she challenged her family to become masters of their money. She and 15 family members committed to reducing their debt and building wealth during a yearlong campaign. Under her expertise and guidance, the family paid off more than $300,000 in debt.

Helen has spent most of her adult life climbing the corporate ladder and managing others. She loved the work she was involved in, but her goal in life is to help people. She started Mastering Money, because it was her passion. She believes that the work she does with Mastering Money is more than just financial planning. She wants to impact lives and instill long-term change in the people involved with her financial programs. Staying connected with them through social media, video, webinars, emails – whatever it takes to get them where they need to be – that’s where she finds joy in what she is doing.
