DIY Credit Repair
Hi Money Masters!
Let’s talk about the “C” word…CREDIT. Good, Average, or Bad; you have credit. If you are trying to improve your credit score and polish up that report ’til it’s sparkling clean, there’s good news-
There are steps YOU can take on your own!
Get your credit report for free once a year:
Each bureau (Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion) will give you your report for free 1 time per year. The credit SCORE is usually extra but only a few dollars.
INSIDER TIP…
If you stagger each report every few months you’ll be able to monitor your credit throughout the year 🙂
Make a call:
If you see something on your report that seems questionable or fraudulent don’t be afraid to ask about it. Call the bureau to get more information and find out how to submit a dispute, if necessary.
Be Responsible with payments:
This might seem like a no-brainer, but consistent (or even a one time) late or delinquent payments on credit cards or utilities can hit your report and affect your score.
